Why are new bands, more concerned with aesthetic than music?

It seems to me that newer bands have lost focus on what really matters, when it comes to music, playing music, and creating a truly great song or record. In the days of the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin all that mattered was writing the best possible song and creating the best possible record and originality, yes doing and creating music that noone else before had.  Nowadays, rock bands have become more concerned with straightening their hair and putting on enough makeup to look rock and roll, while the bands and music have all begun to look and sound the same, cookie cutter rock bands, only concerned with how they look on stage and not the least concerned with what or how they are playing. Have bands lost focus on music and only become concerned with aesthetic?WWW.YouTube.com/BlackVeilBrides.

  1. I agree, and I think the reason for this is simply money. A lot of newer bands are just in the industry to make a buck, and have that rockstar popularity, and don't mind "selling out". Artists are losing sight of what matters: the music (and fans). They should keep playing music because they love it and want to make people happy, not just to make a lot of money.
